Abnormal laboratory parameters include: decreased transferrin; ceruloplasmin; increased ferritin (non-specific, > 800 ng/mL); mixed hyperbilirubinaemia; low aminotransferases; low factors V and VII (< 10% of normal); thrombocytopenia, anaemia and increased alpha-fetoprotein (> 200 ng/mL).
