Taking into account that the TLR2 upregulation in hepatic tissue of infected BALB/c mice could be contributing to an anti-inflammatory effect and that TLR2 has been proposed as an immunomodulator receptor during T.cruzi infection [20], we evaluated whether pre-treatment with Pam3CSK4, a TLR2-TLR1 agonist, 24hs before infection with T. cruzi is able to improve the immune response balance and the outcome of the acute infection in B6 mice. This evidence concerns the gene TLR2 and infection.
