Prior studies have shown that basal p-Stat5 levels are constitutively high in cell lines that have been transfected with FLT3-ITD genes [32]–[36], [38], [57] and recently increased expression of p-Stat5 in AML blasts was found to be highly predictive of the presence of FLT3-ITD mutations [41]. This evidence concerns the gene FLT3 and acute myeloid leukemia.
