Budhu and Wang reviewed the association between cytokine abnormalities and HCC patients and found that a dominant TH2-like cytokine profile (IL-4, IL-8, IL-10, and IL-5) and a decrease in the TH1-like cytokines (IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-12p35, IL-12p40, IL-15, TNF-α, and IFN-γ,) was associated with the metastatic phenotype of disease [50].
