In addition to SR-PSOX links to atherosclerosis [120, 121] where the molecule was induced in vitro and in vivo by atherosclerosis-promoting inflammatory signals [122], it is also involved in acute and adaptive experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis [123], CD8+ T cell recruitment during inflammatory valvular heart disease [124], and bacterial phagocytosis [116].
