Analysis of 42 genes associated with diabetes by RT q-PCR showed that in the liver, expression of Gk, Glut-2, apolipoprotein A-IV (ApoA-IV), PPARγ, and a series of fatty acid oxidation enzymes were increased while those of triglyceride lipase, lipoprotein lipase, apolipoprotein A-I (Apo-AI), and insulin receptor substrate 2 (Irs-2) were decreased [49].
