Clinical findings vary with the degree of immune suppression, ranging from an increased incidence of bronchitis and sinusitis, with CD4 counts above 500/μL, to PCP and KS, with CD4 counts below 200/μL.[4] The introduction of HAART has succeeded in considerable reduction in mortality from AIDS in both adult and pediatric populations.[7, 8] A similar reduction has been achieved in the incidence of both community and acquired pneumonia.[2, 7, 9–11]. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and sinusitis.
