Established cervical cancer cell lines (C33a, SiHa, CaSki, HeLa) and 100 prospectively collected biopsies from precancer and cancer lesions and 20 control specimens from histopathologically-confirmed, normal hysterectomized cervix were examined for presence of HPV infection as well as expression and activation of STAT3. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and cervical carcinoma.
