RMEL3 and neoplasm: For RMEL3, we observed a significant (p = 0.002) inverse correlation of gene expression and tumor progression, so that the majority (13/19, 68%) of the patients lacking RMEL3 expression in their tumor sample presented with metastasis, most of them (9/13, 77%) in an aggressive (visceral) stage of the disease, whereas in contrast only a minority (3/13, 23%) of the patients with preserved RMEL3 expression were diagnosed with metastasis.
