Women with diabetes who smoked had higher circulating PlGF (142.7 [77.4–337.3] vs 95.9 [48.5–180.7], p = 0.005), slightly lower soluble endoglin (4.9 [3.8–5.6] vs 5.3 [4.3–6.3], p = 0.05), and no difference in sFlt1 than those who did not smoke. Here, PGF is linked to diabetes mellitus.
