IGF1R and acute lymphoblastic leukemia: Different anti-IGF1R antibodies, as well as small-molecule IGF1R or IGF1R tyrosine kinase inhibitors, are being investigated as stand-alone therapies or in combination with conventional treatments for many cancers, including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, leukaemia (ALL, CML), non-small-cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer and sarcoma (recently discussed and summarised in Gualberto and Pollak, 2009).
