We show here, that CD44 was frequently hypermethylated and transcriptionally silenced in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), Burkitt lymphoma (BL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and follicular lymphoma (FL) cell lines, whereas it was unmethylated and expressed in most HL and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and Burkitt lymphoma.
