Two recent studies, one reporting the overexpression of α-enolase in 18 out of 24 different types of cancer, including breast cancer [8], the other demonstrating the association of phosphorylated isoforms with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [9], further support a correlation between ENO1 expression and its general pathophysiological role in cancer formation. Here, ENO1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
