In agreement with those data and reports of gut epithelium in vivo[1], HCT116 (Figure 3C–D) and HT29 (Figure 3E–F) human colorectal carcinoma cells engineered to stably express CXCL12 exhibited increased activation of executioner caspases-3/7 compared to CXCL12-deficient carcinoma cells. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is carcinoma.
