It was shown that Th17 cells are involved in tissue inflammation through the induction of the release of the cytokines IL-8, -6, COX-2, MMP-1, -3, CXCL1 NOS-2 by surrounding cells such as fibroblasts, macrophages, endothelial and epithelial cells (Brennan et al, 2001; Agarwal et al, 2008; Gu et al, 2008), which are involved in angiogenesis, tumour invasion and metastasis (Brennan et al, 2001; Nabeshima et al, 2002; Li et al, 2003; Wei et al, 2003). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL1 and neoplasm.
