LGALS4 and retinal degeneration: We determined that, in contrast to Rh1-Gal4, Rh1WT;Rh1+/+, VCP26-8/+;Rh1+/+ or Rh1WT;VCP26-8/+;Rh1+/+ retinas, which displayed a normal photoreceptor depolarization following light stimulation, Rh1P37H-expressing photoreceptors had a decreased amplitude of photoreceptor depolarization (plateau), both after 30 and 45 dle, consistent with their retinal degeneration phenotype (Figure 8; n = 12–20 flies/genotype).
