The genes more frequently methylated in adenocarcinomas were: RARB, TWIST1, and CACNA1A, while the most commonly methylated genes in squamous tumors were SCGB3A1, ID4, SFRP4, SFRP5, DCL1, BNIP3, H2AFX, CACNA1G, TGIF, TIMP3 and BCL2. This evidence concerns the gene TWIST1 and adenocarcinoma.
