Both Hyal-1 and Hyal-2 were mainly, if not exclusively, extracted with PBS. On the other hand, Hyal-3 was observed only in 4 M GdnHCl-1% Triton X-100 extracts of advanced stages of cancer (fig. 3C). PH-20 was abundant in all three extracts of different stages of cancer; in PBS extracts PH-20 was detected mainly in cancerous samples (fig. 3D), but in 4 M GdnHCl and 4 M GdnHCl-1% Triton X-100 extracts was mainly detected in macroscopically normal samples.
