TNF and non-small cell lung carcinoma: In microRNA profiling studies of NSCLC cell-lines, varyingly resistant to apoptosis induced by tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), miR-221, −222, −100, −125b, and −15b, and miR-9 and −96, were down- and upregulated, respectively, in the resistant cell-lines.[72] Loss of heterozygosity for microRNA miR-128b, seen in 55% of NSCLC cases, has been correlated with improved clinical response and survival following treatment with gefitinib.[73]
