NFKB1 and Parkinson disease: The results presented here demonstrate a neuroprotective effect of oral NAC supplementation, which may be linked to lowering of SNCA levels and mediated in part by increased cytoplasmic sequestration of NFκB, in a chronic degenerative animal model of PD, further strengthening the arguments in favor of consideration of testing NAC as a potential neuroprotective agent for PD.
