F16–IL2 has recently been shown to mediate an anticancer effect, which can be potentiated by coadministration of taxanes or adriamycins, leading to the initiation of two phase Ib clinical studies in patients with metastatic breast or ovarian cancer (F16–IL2+doxorubicin), or breast or lung cancer (F16–IL2+paclitaxel). The gene discussed is IL2; the disease is lung carcinoma.
