Taking also into account that in severe inflammatory procedures implicated in cancer situations like melanoma, the PAF- and thrombin-activated pathways are interrelated, thus regulating, for instance, both the melanoma cell adhesion and its metastasis [53, 54], compounds such as Zn(S,S)2, Zn(O,O)2 and Cu(O,O)2, with inhibitory effects towards both PAF and thrombin-related activities, are promising candidates as potential anticancer or antithrombotic agents.
