For the scrub typhus ICT, accuracy estimates were lower than those in previous studies with the same product; sensitivities ranged from 74% to 96% and specificities ranged from 86% to 99%.9,10 Previous studies have evaluated the murine typhus IBT for detection of total antibodies rather than only IgM.6,11,12 Sensitivity and specificity ranged from 51.4% to 100%, respectively, for prospectively collected samples12 to 91.4% and 87.7%, respectively, for stored serum samples.11 Results in this study are similar to those of previous studies although accuracies were generally lower. This evidence concerns the gene CD40LG and typhus.
