Copy number increase of 8p12-8p11.21 is one of the most frequent focal changes in NSCLC occurring in ∼9%–35% of cases, with amplification present in ∼3%–8% of cases in the literature, a frequency rivaling those of established NSCLC oncogenes such as MYC (∼6%) and EGFR (∼3%) [16],[17]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
