CRP and prediabetes syndrome: We postulate that acute exacerbations (clinical correlate: higher total white blood count and uric acid levels in the group with prediabetes: table 2) of an unregulated systemic proinflammatory milieu (clinical correlate: above normal hs CRP and fibrinogen: figure 1) with existing obesity may initially trigger a transient prediabetic and/or prehypertensive condition.
