In addition, it has been shown recently that thiazolidine derivatives unable to activate PPARγ have an antiproliferative effect in both hormone-dependent and hormone independent breast cancer cell lines [50].To study the role of PPARγ in modulating the expression of hTERT and telomerase activity, we studied the effects that two structurally different PPARγ antagonists, BADGE and GW9662 have upon troglitazone inhibition of hTERT expression. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and breast cancer.
