Probably, the measured activation of caspase-3 was not sufficient to exceed the minimal threshold necessary to trigger apoptosis; (iii) to highlight that in about 60–70% of CLL samples studied, quercetin per se induces apoptosis, as indicated by decreased cell viability and increased caspase-3 activity and Annexin V positivity (CLL-55, 44, and 11). This evidence concerns the gene ANXA5 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
