As a first step to link the involvement of β-actin in cardiac hypertrophy, we fractionated both LV and RV into Triton-soluble (sol), Triton-insoluble (low-spin cytoskeletal), and Triton-insoluble (high-spin; membrane skeletal) fractions and analyzed by Western blotting. The gene discussed is ACTB; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
