Furthermore, Forristal et al. [41] reported that HIF-2α is important in maintaining the pluripotency of human embryonic stem cells in hypoxic condition and Pietras et al. [42] demonstrated that HIF-2α maintains bone marrow- derived neuroblastoma tumor cells at a neural crest-like stage of differentiation in vitro and in vivo. This evidence concerns the gene EPAS1 and neuroblastoma.
