Only a very small fraction of cases in the general population, however, can be explained by high-penetrance breast cancer susceptibility genes, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2. Recent genome-wide association (GWA) studies [1]–[8], including our own study among Chinese women in Shanghai [6], have identified multiple common genetic susceptibility loci for breast cancer. Here, BRCA2 is linked to breast carcinoma.
