NUCLEOLIN and infection: In-depth confocal examination of host cells infected with wildtype Salmonella revealed diffuse cytoplasmic nucleolin by 3 h post-infection (Figure 6Da) which strongly sequestered around intracellular SCV by 5–8 h post-infection (Figure 6Db-d and Figure S5E) as supported by the absence of nucleolin in bacterial-free cytoplasmic regions (Figure S5F).
