The gene mutation on hot spots i.e. Thr58 of c-Myc and Ser33, Ser37, Thr41 and Ser45 of β-catenin abolishes phosphorylation by GSK3β results in preventing ubiquitination and proteasome mediated degradation of c-Myc [47-50]/β-catenin [46,51-53] has been reported in various cancers but not so far in OSCC. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and cancer.
