BRAF and melanoma: Importantly, cell cycle analysis of melanoma cells harboring wild type RAS and BRAF (37-31E), NRASQ61L mutation (SKMel147) and BRAFV600E mutation (UACC903) treated with 10 μM MTA for 48 h, showed an increased number of cells in G1 phase compared with untreated cells (6.6% ± 0.8% (p < 0.05), 8.9% ± 0.5% (p < 0.05) and 16.4% ± 0.7% (p < 0.01) respectively) (Fig 4E).
