When including the imputed data, a trend towards significance was noted for the univariable analysis of the MDM2 G allele (P = 0.0764 unadjusted and P = 0.1067 adjusted analysis) (Table 2), but carriers of a G allele had a 1.58 fold increased risk for cancer after adjusting for sex, race, birth year, and effects from other polymorphisms in multivariable analysis (P = 0.0313) (Table 3). The gene discussed is MDM2; the disease is cancer.
