In sharp contrast to Bmal1-/- and Clock/Clock mutantmice, Cry1,2-/- mice were less active in the open field experiments; atthe same time, time spent in the center of the open field arena was almostthree-fold higher in Cry1,2-/- mice when compared to wild type and Bmal1-/-,and was comparable with that of the Clock/Clock mutants - the patternwhich can be interpreted as a sign of greatly reduced anxiety in these animals. These observations reinforce the previously reported data on the involvement ofthe circadian proteins in the regulation of mood [8,9]. Here, CLOCK is linked to Anxiety.
