This subgroup of DLBCL has been associated with immunoblastic-like morphology and extranodal disease.1 In our report, 53.4% patients were positive for MUM1 expression, similar to the findings of Colomo.18 A study on high-risk patients who underwent sequential chemotherapy followed by ABMT showed that cutoff values lower than 70% positive expression of MUM1 cells did not have an impact on overall survival. This evidence concerns the gene IRF4 and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
