CRP and heart disorder: Currently, there are cross-sectional and case-control studies that have reported elevated antibody titers against Helicobacter pylori, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Cytomegalovirus in patients with a high prevalence of heart disease.15 It is also possible that the association between CRP and atherosclerotic disease is a product of cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) that promote leukocyte adhesion and stimulate CRP production.
