Considering the increased level of BACE1-AS and reduction of miR-485-5p in the brain of Alzheimer's disease subjects, we postulated that dysregulation of these two ncRNAs might cause increases in BACE1 mRNA as well as the removal of the miRNA brake on BACE1 mRNA and protein expression. This evidence concerns the gene BACE1 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
