Of the 72 individuals without detectable AMA1-specific MBCs before the malaria season, 64 (88.9% [95% CI 79.3–95.1]) did not have detectable MSP1-specific MBCs, suggesting that failure to generate MBCs to one Pf antigen is associated with failure to generate MBCs to other Pf antigens. This evidence concerns the gene ATAD1 and malaria.
