Several recent reports on acute myeloid leukemia, lymphoma, and MM described increased PSMB5 RNA and protein expression in bortezomib-adapted cells, and inhibition of PSMB5 expression partially restored bortezomib sensitivity in resistant cells, indicating that PSMB5 over expression is important for bortezomib resistance in cancer [16-19]. This evidence concerns the gene PSMB5 and acute myeloid leukemia.
