A positive fluorescent antinuclear antibody test can be found in up to 22% of patients treated with IFN-α [6], and the onset of SLE, autoimmune (Hashimoto) thyroiditis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, and other autoimmune diseases has been reported after IFN-α therapy [7,9,10]. Here, IFNA1 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
