Compared with healthy controls, patients with chronic hepatitis B and cirrhosis had worse biochemical parameters, and increasing severity of liver cirrhosis was associated with significantly decreased in serum albumin (ALB), haemoglobin (HB) and platelet count (PLT), and significantly increased in serum total bilirubin (TBIL) and prothrombin time (PT) (P < 0.05).
