NPPB and ischemic stroke: In the same study, it was shown that there was a weak positive correlation between the MAP levels and the BNP levels at the beginning of the ischemic stroke.[6] In a study performed by Brosnan et al. in order to explore the relationship between MAP and BNP, it was found that in hypertensive patients the BNP levels increased with increase in the blood pressure.[10] However, in our study, no significant correlation was found between plasma BNP levels and MAP in any of the study groups.
