Age ≥ 60 years (OR 4.2, 95% CI 1.4-12.3), treated with insulin (OR 2.0, 95% CI 1.0-4.0), low/normal WHR (OR 3.7, 95% CI 1.5-9.3), and income ≤ 800 TK (OR 3.2, 95% CI 1.1-9.4), remained as statistically significant risk factors, whereas duration of diabetes (OR1.2, 95% CI 1.0-1.4), and HbA1c (OR 1.1, 95% CI 1.0-1.3), remained as borderline, statistically significant risk factors for DPN after controlling for potential confounding factors included in the multivariate logistic regression model [Table 3].
