VEGFA and macular retinal edema: Analysis of the 25 patients who did not have cataract surgery revealed that the vitreous level of vascular endothelial growth factor was not associated with improvement of macular edema or improvement of visual acuity (r = 0.2904, p = 0.1568 and r = - 0.1856, p = 0.3633, respectively), also possibly because of the small sample size.
