IGHE and urticaria: Urticaria affects 15-25% of people at least once in their life time.[1] It is a clinical reaction pattern triggered by many factors causing the liberation of vasoactive substances such as histamine, prostaglandins and kinins.[2] Clinically, uritcaria is classified into acute (duration <6 weeks) and chronic (duration >6 weeks) type.[3] Etiologically, urticaria is classified broadly into immunological mediated (IgE dependent and non-IgE dependent) and non-immunological mediated.
