Similarly, the destruction complex can become inactive either by the inhibition of GSK-3β through the Wnt signalling pathway (see [18]) or the inactivation or mutation of the Axin protein, leading to accumulation of the β- Catenin proteins in the cytoplasm; but the proportion of colon cancer caused by inhibition of GSK-3β is also very small as compared to the colon cancer cases caused by the CIN and the MSI pathways.
