ADORA2B and malaria: Using meta-analysis pooled across four association studies (Malawi case-control (unrelated cases and controls), Malawi family trio (affected child and parental controls), Gambian case-control and Gambian trio), we tested SNP associations with severe malaria in six genes related to the Gs pathway; adenosine receptor alpha 2A and 2B (ADORA2A, ADORA2B), beta-adrenergic receptor kinase 1 (ADRBK1), regulator of G protein signalling 2 (RGS2), adenylyl cyclase 9 (ADCY9), and G-protein-beta 3 (GNB3).
