CRP has been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including preterm delivery,[2] preeclampsia,[3] and intrauterine growth restriction.[4] Furthermore, periodontal disease has been associated with increased risk of preterm low birth weight,[5] low birth weight,[6] and preterm birth.[7] Preterm birth is a major medical, social, and economic problem accounting for large proportion of maternal and especially, neonatal mortality and morbidity. Here, CRP is linked to fetal growth restriction.
