EGFR and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: Based on the importance of hub-bottleneck genes in regulating the function of a PPIN [33], the enrichment of four hub-bottlenecks miR-204 targets in the EGFR-dependent “prioritized HNSCC PPIN” predicts that their up-regulation upon miR-204 suppression in HNSCC could significantly augment cell cycle and extracellular matrix remodeling.
